Subcompact Glock 45 Acp - The subcompact, single-stack Glock chambered in .45 ACP introduced in 1999, the G36, doesn't get the attention it deserves. It is a good choice for protection, it includes all the work enthusiasts expect from the company, and it somehow avoids the headlines. Not being noticed is a rare and valuable skill in a gun designed for concealed carry, but the silence in the two decades since its introduction has been deafening.

Magazine capacity is six rounds, and this single-stack design keeps the G36 compact, a trait that reduces visibility during concealed carry. The overall diameter measures 1.18". It has a 3.78" barrel and weighs 22.4 oz. with an empty magazine and the overall length is 6.97".

The semi-automatic features the company's well-known safe movement system and, as expected, has a dark business look. The frame is made of polymer and the steel slide is finished in black Tenifer. There was no place to mount weapon lights or lasers on early models. However, Glock added a rail in 2013.

. He explained, "At the range, the G36 exhibits a more manageable level of recoil than you'd expect from a lighter pistol. The .45 ACP round packs a solid punch in the shooting hand, but it's not as quick on the wrist as a Glock chambered in .40 S&W The narrow single stack grip feels great in small hands like mine and a smooth 5.5 lb.

A pair of finger tips on the front of the pistol grip and stitching on the back ensure a solid purchase on the pistol, even in bad weather. Current prices for the new model, if you can get it, are $650 or more, depending on the configuration.

Its popularity among gun enthusiasts in the know is evident in the fact that FFL racks do not exactly fit the latest factory G36s. In fact, they tend to be hard to find in stock, even though the pistol has flown under the radar for over twenty years.

Company founder Justin Moon assembled a small team to help manufacture and sell their first gun in 1993. The few P9 prototypes they produced for testing and evaluation received glowing reviews, and in 1994, Kahr Firearms began shipping the guns.

Springfield Armory XD-M Elite 4.5" OSP in 10mm Auto, NRA Gun of the Week, American Rifleman Gun of the Week Here's what you need to know: The Glock 36, like the Officer, is a 45 caliber single-stack. Basically, the Glock is a cut-down version of the pistol. 1. That said, Glock's modern operating system and use of advanced materials give it a definite advantage over the older design.

Until recently, the most common .45 caliber compact handgun was the so-called officer model. A derivative of the government's 1911A1, in 2011 it was finally replaced by a much simpler pistol: the Glock 36. Chambered in .45 ACP and following the same success pattern as previous Glocks, the Model 36 may be the most compact stack of .45 . on the market today.

The 1911 .45 caliber pistol, designed by John Moses Browning, was the most successful pistol. Adopted by the United States Army during World War I, it served through World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, and the closing years of the Cold War. The all-steel gun was large, heavy and cumbersome, but it was durable and could last for decades. Later, Colt's Manufacturing developed and released a smaller and lighter version, the Colt Commander, but it failed to gain traction as a replacement for the original 1911A1.

Springfield Xd Mod.2 Sub Compact 3.3\

The second pistol developed by Colt, the Colt Officer Model, further shortened the revolver, cutting the barrel length by one and a half inches and the overall weight by half a pound. The result was a smaller, lighter and more compact version of the 1911A1 better suited for officers in mechanized forces who spend a lot of time inside the confines of armored personnel carriers or aircraft. The tradeoff was a great way for the shooter to get a muzzle twist, but that was the price to pay for combining the .45 cartridge with a shorter barrel.

In 2011, Glock released a new pistol to combat the legal handguns in the .45 concealed carry market. The Glock 36, like the Officer, is a single-stack .45 caliber pistol. Like the Officer, the Glock is basically a cut down version of the original pistol. That being said, Glock's modern operating system and use of advanced tools give it an edge over older designs.

The Glock 36 is, like all Glock models of all makes and models, basically the original Model 17. Glock guns eschew the traditional hammer and firing pin system, especially common in older guns, to a striking system where the firing pin engages the firing pin. In striker-fired pistols, the gun is cocked when the slide moves and is chambered around: the gun is fully loaded and unloads by pulling the trigger. This allows for a number of safety mechanisms to be built into the starting system, including the trigger, pin pin, and trigger.

Another feature that the Glock 1911 lacks is the use of polymers to reduce weight. All Glocks use a polymer frame and handle in the magazine house and fire control group, reinforced in some places with steel. In addition, the use of polymers whenever possible allows Glock to achieve a weight reduction of four ounces. The Glock 36 still uses a steel slide, barrel, guide piece, and other parts to deal with the pressure and reloading of the gun's cartridges.

Glock 30 .45 Acp (pr47125)

The Glock 36 has an overall length of 6.97 inches and a barrel length of 3.78 inches. It has an overall width of 1.18 inches. It weighs 22.4 ounces with an unloaded magazine, and a full seven-round magazine increases the weight to 26.81 ounces. An example of an officer-style pistol produced today, the Springfield Armory Range Officer Compact, is 7.6 inches long with a 4-inch barrel. An all-steel pistol, it weighs 28.5 ounces, half a pound more than a Glock. The Range Officer Compact has the same six-round magazine capacity as its Glock competitor, with an extra round in the chamber.

The Colt Officer's pistol and the Glock 36 are reduced variants of the rifles designed for military service. Both have pros and cons (some users may prefer Colt's exposed hammer or Colt's all-steel design), but as low-end pistols, American and Austrian pistols bring something new to the table, their full-size versions do not. The Glock 36 is perfect for those who carry concealed, work in tight spaces, or just want a small, powerful, highly reliable handgun.

Kyle Mizokami is a San Francisco-based writer who has appeared in The Diplomat, Foreign Policy, War Is Boring, and The Daily Beast. In 2009, he founded a Japanese safety and security blog. Glock's most powerful and compact pistol is a blend of old and new technology. The Glock 30 subcompact pistol combines the .45 ACP round, a product of the Industrial Revolution, with modern handgun technology. The result is a highly concealable gun that, when drawn, has few countermeasures.

The .45 Automatic Colt Pistol (ACP) round was developed by the great gun inventor John Moses Browning. The US Army's experience with the .38 Long Colt round during the Philippine insurgency left it wanting a more powerful round capable of neutralizing with fewer shots. The fight against the Filipino rebels, sometimes hand-to-hand, divided the battles into two categories: the quick and the dead. A single .38 Long Colt bullet wound was usually not enough to knock down an insurgent before they could inflict a fatal wound with a knife.

In response, John Browning developed the larger and lighter .45 ACP round. 38 Long Colt round typically transferred 180 foot-pounds of energy to the target. The .45 ACP round, on the other hand, easily transferred twice the power. Combined with

The Glock 26 Gen3 9mm Subcompact Pistol, also known as the "Baby Glock", is the ultimate GLOCK small pistol, specifically designed for concealed carry and a former 5-round revolver magazine.

Sub Compact Glocks

It has been the most sought-after concealed carry option since its release in 1994, with a 10-mag capacity and a fast 9mm Luger cartridge with low recoil and more on-target accuracy and quick firing.

The Glock 26 Gen3 9mm sub-compact pistol uses the same trigger, short-recoil action, and locked-flap barrel as the mainframe GLOCK pistols. The Safe-Action trigger system makes shooting in high-stress areas as safe as possible. The frame of the GLOCK pistol is made of high-strength polymer that withstands shocks, caustic liquids and extreme temperatures.

The G26 is a reliable, easy-to-storage handgun ideal for everyday carry or backup for security personnel. Comes with 2 10 round double stack magazines and also works with G17 and G19 magazines.

The gun world seems to have a love-hate relationship with Glock pistols. Some people love these polymer frame handguns, others hate them. One thing is for sure, these guns are here to stay.

Top Performing & Concealable 1911 Sub Compact 9mm Pistols

Glocks are becoming increasingly popular for concealed carry. The "safe action" design of these guns means you don't have to think too hard in a self-defense situation. Basically, you aim and click. The simplicity and reliability of the Glock design is why many law enforcement agencies have these weapons as their preferred service pistol. Add in the fact that they are ambidextrous thanks to the retractable magazine catch and you have a versatile weapon.

We'll start with probably the most popular Glock out there, the G19. I have a Gen 4 model of this pistol and know many others who also use this 9mm as a self defense pistol. The Glock is listed as a compact on their website, although most firearms experts agree that it is between full size and top quality handguns with an overall length of 7.28 inches. The trigger pull is a little "mushy" as some shooters might say, but you can easily change it to improve performance.

The Gen 3 version is slightly taller at 7.36 inches. All models have a barrel length of 4.02 inches, which provides good quality. This is a safe bet for the new gun owner.

Sub Compact Glocks

The 19 weighs just over thirty ounces with a full magazine. With the right holster, it's comfortable enough to carry all day. The standard capacity magazine is a double stack that holds 15 rounds. On the Gen 4 model, Glock also included three magazines. It's a nice touch because you won't want to run out and buy faster. The Gen 4 and Gen 5 models include additional straps to adjust to your wrists.

Another variant of this pistol is the Glock 19X, which was introduced just a few years ago. This model combines the features of the ever-popular Glock 17 and 19 to create what Glock calls a "crossover" pistol.

Another 9mm, the main differences here are a smaller 10 magazine capacity and an overall smaller frame. 26 weighs about 25 ounces when fully loaded. The Gen 5 version is slightly heavier according to the Glock website. Barrel length is slightly shorter at 3.43 inches.

The 26 is more stealthy than the 19, due to the 6.42-inch overall length in the Gen 4 and 5. Again, the Gen 3 is slightly longer. Glock found a way to keep the size down with the new ones. The downside is that it is too short to handle.

I have read complaints from heavy handed shooters who have a hard time with the two finger grip on this gun.

Glock 27 Gen5, Striker Fired, Sub Compact, 40s&w, 3.43\

If you're like me, you're probably on the fence between this and 19. I spent a lot of time researching everything. You will see that there are many divided opinions on this debate.

I ended up going with the 19 to get the full size grip, but I would recommend going to your local gun dealer to get everything in person. You may know right away if the short handle will work for you or not.

Some people just don't like the 9mm as a defensive round and that's fine. That's why Glock made pistols like the G23 chambered in .40.

Sub Compact Glocks

It is very comparable to the G19 in terms of size. It has the same barrel length of 4.02 inches and weighs about 30 ounces. All weapons are the same width and length. In fact, gun owners have noticed some subtle similarities.

Glock Sub Compact Gauntlet

After all, there are .40 to 9mm conversion barrels on the market, and it seems most are nothing more than a quick change from shooting a different round. Do what you want.

The G23's standard magazine holds two fewer rounds than the 19, which should be expected with a larger round. Most people are fine with trading for some stopping power that the .40 provides.

This is a weapon that you will often find used by law enforcement agencies. When I took my concealed carry class, the instructor called this Glock "the best semi-auto carry pistol ever," if you need another idea.

As you might expect, this pistol is very similar to the Glock 26. It has the same long barrel, same slide and overall length, and even the same width. The main difference is that this gun fires .40 Smith & Wesson instead of 9mm. That means a lot of firepower in a very compact package, making it ideal for concealed carry or home defense.

Why You Should Ditch Sub Compact And Carry Mid Size :: Guns.com

Most of the things we talked about with the 26 and grip size apply here. The biggest question you need to ask yourself is what type of business are you getting? The .40 ammo provides stopping power, but only has nine-round magazines as opposed to 12. You can use large magazines with this gun, as you can with all Glocks, but it is not concealable. A short bar combined with a large hoop will also make it difficult to handle properly.

The biggest plus of the 27 is that it is much more concealable than most fully loaded .40 pistols. If you're going to be a dedicated, every day carrier, don't discount carry convenience in your decision about which gun to buy.

If the .45 is the only caliber you'll ever consider for self-defense, the G30 is worth a look. It weighs 33 ounces with a full load, and you get 10 rounds in a compact, concealable package. This gun is only 6.97 inches long and has a 3.78 inch barrel. Not bad for a gun with that much firepower.

Sub Compact Glocks

If you look at this gun, you'll also see G30s. The pistol is a weakened variant. Glock was able to shave about 3 ounces off the overall weight by making the slide much thinner while maintaining the same 10-round magazine capacity and barrel length.

Sirt Pocket Pistol Sub Compact Training Pistol » Concealed Carry Inc

This weight difference may not seem like much. It's hard to see the difference until you look at both guns' rear slides, but all the weight is important. This is especially true for your everyday weapon.

The G30s are a good choice for anyone concerned with a slimmer profile and sleek design from hiding.

The .357 Sig is a little known round that packs a real punch. Do not confuse this with .357 Magnum as it is not the same round. Bullet size is close to .40 S&W.

A good use of the .357 Sig is the Glock 32. This gun has a 4.02-inch barrel, 30-ounce overall weight, and 7.28-inch overall length. So it is comparable in size to the Glock 19.

Concealed Carry Corner: Smaller Isn't Always Betterthe Firearm Blog

While this gun packs a lot of fire, the downside is the lack of accuracy of the .357 Sig round. It may be difficult to find this round in some stores depending on where you live. Glock also made a Gen 4 version of this gun, so if you live in a state like California that bans Gen 4 guns, you're in luck.

It is important to note that there are many law enforcement agencies that still use the .357 Sig in their service rifles, so it is time tested and trusted by professionals.

This pistol is also chambered in .357 Sig. However, this pistol is close in size to the Glock 26. It is only 6.42 inches long and weighs only 25 ounces fully loaded. This

Sub Compact Glock 45 - Here's what you need to know: The Glock 36, like the Officer, is a single .45 pistol. Like the Officer, the Glock is essentially a shortened version of the original pistol. That being said, the Glock's more modern operating system and use of advanced materials give it a decisive lead over the older design.

Until recently, the most common .45 caliber handgun was the type known as the Officer's Model. Derived from the 1911A1 government, in 2011 it was finally replaced by an even lighter pistol – the Glock 36. Chambered in .45 ACP and following the same winning formula as previous Glocks, the Model 36 may very well be the best compact single magazine .45 on the market today.

The 1911 .45 caliber revolver, designed by John Moses Browning, was one of the most successful handguns of all time. It was adopted by the US armed forces in time for World War I, and continued through World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, and the final years of the Cold War. The all-steel plate revolver was large, heavy and imposing, but it was also durable and could last for decades. Colt's Manufacturing then developed and released a smaller, lighter version, the Colt Commander, but it failed to gain traction to replace the original Model 1911A1.

Range Report: Glock 45 9mm Pistol

The second Colt-developed revolver, the Colt Officer Model, slimmed the revolver even further, reducing the barrel length by an inch and a half and the overall weight by half a pound. The result was a smaller, lighter and more compact version of the 1911A1 suitable for officers of mechanized armies who spent a lot of time in the confined spaces of armored vehicles or aircraft. The trade-off was the shooter's increased tendency to experience muzzle roll, but that was the price to pay for pairing the .45 cartridge with a shorter barrel.

In 2011, Glock released a new pistol to address the officer-style pistols in the concealed .45 market. The Glock 36 is, like the Officer, a single chambered .45 pistol. Like the Officer, the Glock is essentially a shortened version of the original pistol. That being said, the Glock's more modern operating system and use of advanced materials give it a decisive lead over the older design.

The Glock 36, like all Glock variants in all calibers and types, is essentially the original Model 17 at heart. Glock pistols eschew the traditional hammer and firing pin system, especially common in older pistols, for a bolt-action firearm system in which the striker engages the firing pin. In percussion pistols, the gun is half-cocked when the slide is cocked and the chamber is cocked—the gun is fully cocked and unloaded by pulling the trigger. This allows for a number of safety mechanisms to be incorporated into the percussion firing system, including trigger safety, firing pin safety, and trigger safety.

Another feature missing from the Glock over the 1911 is the use of polymers to reduce weight. All Glocks use a polymer frame and handle to house the magazine and fire control group, reinforced in some locations with steel. Furthermore, the use of polymers when possible allows Glock to achieve a weight reduction of four ounces. The Glock 36 still uses a steel slide, barrel, guide and other parts to handle the pressure and recoil created by the firearm's cartridges.

Glock 45 With Printed Frame

The Glock 36 has an overall length of 6.97 inches and a barrel length of 3.78 inches. It has an overall width of 1.18 inches. It weighs just 22.4 ounces with the magazine unloaded, and a loaded seven-round magazine weighs 26.81 ounces. One example of an officer-type pistol produced today, the Springfield Armory Range Officer Compact, is 7.6 inches long with a 4-inch barrel. An all-steel pistol, it weighs 28.5 ounces empty, a full quarter pound more than a Glock. The Range Officer Compact has the same six-round magazine capacity as its Glock competitor—plus an extra round in the chamber.

The Colt Officer Type Pistol and the Glock 36 are both miniature variants of pistols intended for military service. Both have their advantages and disadvantages—some users may prefer the Colt's exposed hammer or the Colt's all-steel design—but as compact revolvers, the American and Austrian revolvers bring new things to the table that the full-size versions do not. The Glock 36 is great for those who carry concealed, work in confined spaces, or simply want a small, rugged, and extremely reliable handgun.

Suppressed Glock - Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone and thanks for joining us for another installment of TFB's Silencer Saturday brought to you by our friends at Yankee Hill Machine, makers of affordable silencers, firearms and accessories . Last week we discussed crushing the IWI Galil ACE using KNS variable pistons. My conclusion is that if you are using a premium AK rifle, the KNS Piston is a very worthwhile investment. I'm rarely impressed with the performance of firearms, but last week I was pleased with the ACE/KNS combination. Today we got a chance to look at a GLOCK 44 suppressed with a Dead Man mask. I have been anxiously awaiting my chance to crush the new GLOCK G44 for several months and luckily the barrel arrived a few hours ago during our weekly quiet chat.

Since it was announced a few weeks ago, the internet mind has been buzzing with ideas for the new GLOCK release – and believe me I've heard them all. Without deviating from other manufacturers' rimfire models — there are plenty of .22LR pistols on the market — the GLOCK 44 fills a once-empty void. This gun is very similar to many concealed carry weapons in the world, with the same ergonomics, the same guidance and the same feel of a GLOCK pistol. All while relying on shooting an affordable .22LR cartridge.

With an MSRP a shade over $400, the GLOCK 44 is more expensive than other options on the market. Unfortunately, this price does not include the price of the threaded barrel which is sold as a kit and would have a street value of $125. I hope GLOCK will one day offer an adjustable G44 package that includes a tuned barrel and possibly a longer sight for larger diameters.

The activated barrel of the GLOCK 44 is turned to the standard M9 X .75 and includes a thread protector and adapter that converts it to a standard 1/2 x 28. Many complaints occur when the Internet world likes the microphone is processed 1 /2 x 28 original. As you can see from the pictures, the G44 range does not support the 1/2 x 28 thread system, and note that the thread adapter does not add much length to the bare gauge thread.

If you can get the Glock out, you can swap in a threaded barrel. Remember the first four safety rules and, when in doubt, always refer to your owner's manual for official instructions.

M9 threads are thin; the thread protector is about half the size of a 1/2×28 thread protector.

The threaded barrel of the GLOCK G44 has a clean crown. We will have a similar comparison in the next review.

As seen above, the 1/2 x 28 adapter slides over the barrel with an internal shoulder, reducing the amount of extra length added to the stock setup.

This picture is a little deceiving, but the barrel of the G44 is slightly longer than the barrel of the G44.

The overall look is clean and clear. The small diameter of the barrel reduces the possibility of using the long sight. Pictured here is a silent .22 Dead plane.

Since the G44 has only been on the ground for a few hours, you'll have to throw out the excuse of a lack of ammunition and silence the dissent. I used a clean subsonic and high speed CCI with a dead mask. Both types of ammunition ran flawlessly.

The mask is a perfect mask and works great on the G44. As a host, the G44 does not disappoint. It feels like a Gen 5 G19 (albeit a little lighter) without all the noise and recoil.
